Due to a lot of recent updates in the scripts, we are recounting all the actor lines so we will be able to update the statistics on the left correctly.

In the meantime, omnitalent Andrei (SilverWolfPet) Constantinescu has joined the cast. He will be the voices of the two Fettuchini Brothers and the Fighting Pirate #3. He will also replace Cornelius as the lookout.

So, here’s the current WIP without the nasty bugs at Stan’s and a much better compression rate (about 67MB).

The WIP build features full speech support for:
Guybrush Threepwood (Mêlée Island only), Stan, Herman Toothrot, Fighting Pirate #1 (Nick), The Rat, Head of the Navigator, Storekeeper

The Patch also features full speech with temp voices for:
Lookout, Estevan, Fat Ghost Pirate, Captain Smirk

Various temp voices were included for:
Cook, Mancomb Seepgood, Important looking pirates (all 3), Monkey Island Canibals Sharptooth and Redskull, Troll, Elaine Marley, The Fettuchini Brothers, Fighting Pirate #3

As of today, you can download the next best WIP build. It features (among others) full voice over for Guybrush on Melee, full speech for pirate Nick, the Lookout, Stan, Herman, the Storekeeper, LeChuck, Head of the Navigator and a lot of temp voices for a couple of the other characters (cook, pirate leaders, smirk, canibals, etc.). We are still working on a couple of recently discovered bugs, so stay tuned for an update.

With the steady growth of recordings and lines that need to be maintained, the overhead in QA and Beta-Testing is increasing as well. Simon Sawatzki has agreed to lend us a hand in this important task. Welcome aboard!

I was just checking my calendar and realized, that the next public WIP build is scheduled to be released in this month. For all you scallowag pirates who are ready to put your hands and ears on a talkie version of SMI this means: It’s playtime! The WIP will be ready for download within the next two weeks, depending on the monkeys turning the wheels behind this project.
The current version of the patch will cover full speech for Guybrush for Part I (that is all of Mêlée) as well as speech for about half of the characters. A couple of lines that we received as auditions are also going to be included in the patch.

Attention actors and auditioners: I just received a bunch of updates for the scripts that are laid out in the “Get involved” section. Among the scripts that received updates are:
- Fester Shinetop
- Cook
- Meathook
Make sure to download that latest version before you start recording your lines.

Guybrush seems eager to leave Mêlée Island, which could have something to do with the fact that his honey pumpkin was kidnapped by some foul smelling creepy ghost captain. Or maybe this is just my way of sugar coding that we just received the remaining Guybrush lines for Mêlée Island. Yay!

We just received a fresh shipload of takes that Justin recorded for this quirky little character who wants to be a pirate.
We also received a bunch of new auditions that sound very promising. More later… Check them out in the Progress section to your right…

Justin just sent in the next bunch of lines for our all time favorite character. No, I am not talking about Spiffy the dog nor did I mean the Loom-Dove. I was of course referring to Mr. Gibberish Thriftfoot… no, Guybrook Thronkweed… no, Greenbook Threenwalk… ah, heck.. you know who I mean!
